Grab a Banner for the World Food Programme

I love working with the World Food Programme because they do so, so much around the globe for people who do not have enough food to eat. In fact, food security is one of the primary areas of concentration for us because being hungry spurs so many other adverse implications on lives. The World Food Programme has published startling statistics on their Web site about hunger that I would like to share with you.

  • One in seven people in the world will go to bed hungry tonight.
  • 925 million people do not have enough to eat and 98 percent of them live in developing countries.(Source: FAO news release, 14 September 2010)
  • Women make up a little over half of the world’s population, but they account for over 60 percent of the world’s hungry.

The hunger crisis around the would is very real, but I am relieved that the World Food Programme works tirelessly to ensure people eat. It’s not an easy task, but they make headway into the hunger crisis every day.

There are so many ways you can work with the World Food Programme to spread awareness about the lifesaving work they do. You can donate money to hunger relief. You can also simply add a Hunger Hotspot banner to your blog. It’s free and easy.

You can find a whole host of banners in various sizes on the World Food Programme web site like this one.
